Ras Al Khaimah
- Temperature: 27º
- Sunshine: 8 hours
- Rainy days: 4
- Flight Time: 7 hours
Located just 45 minutes away from Dubai International Airport lies Ras Al Khaimah. Although it might not be as well-known as Dubai or Abu Dhabi, this hidden gem has plenty to offer. As well as a wide range of luxury hotels and all-inclusive resorts (a rare find in the UAE), there’s plenty to do outside of the hotels — especially for those with a taste for adventure.
Here, you can go hiking up the mountains that border Oman, conquer the desert dunes in a 4X4, play a round of golf or ride the longest zipline in the world! With so much to do, it’s no wonder why Ras Al Khaimah has become one of the most popular destinations in the Middle East.
Tenerife
- Temperature: 20º
- Sunshine: 8 hours
- Rainy days: 3
- Flight Time: 4 hours 25 mins
As well as being the largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is also one of the most popular, especially for European tourists. With such close proximity to West Africa, you can expect good weather all year round.
In the middle of the island sits Mount Tiede, the tallest mountain in Spain and the third-highest volcano in the world, but don’t worry, the last eruption was more than 100 years ago in 1909. Visitors to the island can explore the Tiede National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) as well as the surrounding waters, where can go on dolphin and whale watching tours.
Barbados
- Temperature: 29º
- Sunshine: 9 hours
- Rainy days: 9
- Flight Time: 9 hours
The stunning island of Barbados is the most easterly island in the Caribbean and with more than 60 golden beaches you’ll have no difficulty finding somewhere to relax for the day. Of course, if you do find yourself with the urge to explore then there’s plenty to see, such as the Harrison’s Cave formation, the botanical gardens and the 17th-century plantation houses like St. Nicholas Abbey.
Did you know that Barbados isn’t actually in the Caribbean Sea? It’s completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. But don’t worry, sea temperatures are around 27º on average at this time of year, which is why it’s one of our top February holiday destinations.
Krabi
- Temperature: 34º
- Sunshine: 9 hours
- Rainy days: 2
- Flight Time: 14 hours
For anyone looking to travel to Thailand in February, Krabi makes for a wonderful winter-sun destination. Split between mainland Thailand and several islands, including Koh Phi Phi, this region is perfect for anyone looking to relax, explore, indulge or immerse themselves in the local culture.
Renowned for having some of the world’s best beaches (and best sunsets for that matter), here you can dive the depths of the Andaman Sea and climb the limestone cliffs that make up so much of Krabi’s landscape. If you do go, then be sure to visit the hippie-chic Railey Beach, which is only accessible by boat.
Marrakech
- Temperature: 20º
- Sunshine: 7.6 hours
- Rainy days: 7
- Flight Time: 3 hours 40 mins
Looking a little closer to home, Marrakech is a stunning sunny short-haul destination. Whilst you won’t find any beaches here, there’s still plenty to do — and if you are desperate for a swim, there are more than a few pools dotted around the city. However, this is a city that will unleash your wanderlust and encourage you to explore all that it has to offer.
The bustling streets that lie inside of the city walls hold a surprise around every corner, from the abundance of souks where you can haggle for local goods, to the mystifying snake charmers and fortune-tellers.
Cancun
- Temperature: 29º
- Sunshine: 9 hours
- Rainy days: 5
- Flight Time: 10 hours
There’s a reason Cancun is Mexico’s top holiday destination… Not only is it a destination that boasts pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and an extensive range of hotels and all-inclusive resorts, Cancun offers culture, excitement and adventure.
Whether you want to explore ancient Mayan temples, swim with dolphins, indulge in traditional Mexican cuisine, immerse yourself in the local culture or dance the night away, there’s no doubt you’ll find what you’re looking for in Cancun. As tempting as it might be to relax by the pool with a mojito in your hand, we definitely recommend venturing outside of your hotel.
Sri Lanka
- Temperature: 32º
- Sunshine: 9 hours
- Rainy rains: 4
- Flight Time: 11 hours
Often referred to as “the pearl of the Indian ocean”, Sri Lanka is located just off the south-east coast of India. This island nation has so much to offer tourists, from its vast heritage, exciting culture and diverse landscapes — such as tropical shores and luscious forests.
Although the island is relatively small, wildlife enthusiasts will be glad to know that Sri Lanka is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. Among the many animals that call this island home, such as elephants, sloth bears, leopards, sambars and wild buffaloes there are also rare and endangered species such as the red slender loris, toque macaque, and purple-faced langur.
Mozambique
- Temperature: 31º
- Sunshine: 8 hours
- Rainy days: 12
- Flight Time: 14 hours 30 mins
As Mozambique’s tourism industry is still in its infancy, much of the country has so far been left untouched. Although it might not be the first place you think of when planning your holidays, that is exactly what makes it so special!
With its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and a wide range of luxury hotels and resorts this destination shouldn’t be overlooked. Moreover, the Quirimbas Archipelago boasts 250km of coral islands. Further south you’ll find the Bazaruto Archipelago, where its reefs are home to rare marine animals such as dugongs.
Brazil
- Temperature: 29º
- Sunshine: 7 hours
- Rainy days: 18
- Flight Time: 14 hours 30 mins
Last but not least is Brazil, a country that sits at the top of many travellers’ bucket lists. As the fifth largest country in the world — it’s almost as big as Europe — there is a lot to explore and a lot you don’t want to miss.
From the world-famous Ri de Janeiro and the cultural capital of São Paulo to the Amazon Rainforest and the Lençóis Maranhenses, a unique desert famous for its seasonal rainwater lagoons. And for any devoted beach lovers, 172 miles out to sea you’ll find Baia do Sancho — voted the world’s best beach on TripAdvisor.
To really make the most of a trip to Brazil, we’d definitely recommend a twin-centre holiday (or just multiple holidays!)
Miami
- Temperature: 23º
- Sunshine: 6 hours
- Rainy days: 6
- Flight Time: 10 hours
As the third-most populated city on the East Coast, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot going on in Miami. Thanks to its closeness to Cuba, Miami has plenty of Latin influences that have helped shape the city to what it is today. Tourists often flock to local attractions, such as the Wynwood Walls, a unique ‘museum’ that features massive murals by some of the world’s most famous street artists.
With a roaring nightlife, stunning beaches and a flair for flamboyance, Miami won’t disappoint.
