Highlights of Ras Al Khaimah
Travellers to Ras Al Khaimah can choose from serene-spa-luxury to knee-trembling-adrenaline-adventures and everything in between. The year-round destination offers a plethora of activities for everyone.
Jais Flight
Jais Flight is the longest zipline in the world at 2,83km. Soar across jagged mountain peaks and swoop through deep ravines at hair-raising speeds of up to 150 kmph. Three minutes of adrenaline-pumping adventure at 1,680 metres above the Arabian Gulf will leave you with a once-in-a-lifetime sense of superhero magic.
Jais Sledder
The Jais Sledder sits comfortably on a low-slung track. You’ll reach up to 40 kilometres per hour as you hurtle down the Hajar mountain range swerving through glorious panoramas with views of the spectacular coastline. The speed seems amplified ten-fold because you are sitting so close to the ground. The fully-controllable ride takes about eight minutes to cover 1,840 exhilarating metres of hairpin curves and undulating waves.
Suwaidi Pearls
Visitors to Ras Al Khaimah can embark on a fascinating journey aboard a traditional pearl fishing boat. From the original fishing village in Al Rams, your tour will begin as your guide explains the importance of the shallow bay and its protective mangroves. He will impart courageous stories of the fishermen, the diving techniques that they once practised, and explore the various tools they used from the trader’s box ‘bish-takh-tah’.

Beach stays
The Emirate boasts long stretches of pristine white sandy beaches, which are home to a number of beachfront hotels – from ultra-luxurious beach stays to family-friendly city and beach resorts, and city centre properties – in Ras Al Khaimah. World-class hotels and resorts include properties such as Waldorf Astoria, Hilton, Rixos, Rotana, Ritz-Carlton Al Hamra Beach, as well as the world’s largest Hampton by Hilton and Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah on Marjan Island.
Hot Air Ballooning
One of the best things to do in Ras Al Khaimah is watching the sun rise and illuminate the spectacular Ras al Khaimah desert from a hot air balloon. You’ll love the dramatic and spectacular colours of the Northern Emirates, the dunes are contoured as if sculpted by giants from rich reddish gold.
Desert Camps
The desert in Ras Al Khaimah and the UAE is the heart and soul of Arabian life. It’s where the age-old traditions of the Bedouin people, spanning millennia, still thrive today. This unique landscape is not only home to a rich cultural heritage but also hosts diverse flora and fauna. Under the terracotta dunes, indigenous wildlife adds an element of mystery and wonder. As the sun sets, the desert transforms, with campfires glowing and stars illuminating the night sky. Adventure seekers can enjoy the renowned four-wheel-drive desert safari, sandboarding, camel treks, and more.

Visiting Ras Al Khaimah Throughout the Year…
- Daytime temperatures during the months of months of May to September peak between 41° and 43° and feature lows of 24° and 30° at night and very early in the morning
- When exploring the elevated Jebel Jais and enjoying it’s wealth of activities, expect temperatures to be 10° cooler than on the lower ground
- Surprisingly, the sky can be overcast during these hot summer months though it will rarely rain at this time
- Towards the end of June, you will enjoy the longest daylight of just shy of 14 hours
- To avoid the summer heat, many tourists visit between mid-November and late March – with the middle of February being the most popular time. However, the most canny of holiday-makers can take advantage of the shade of palms and cabanas and the warm resort pools or sea water to visit in the hotter months when holiday prices are cheaper with lots of hotel offers available
