January in Rome is part of the cooler winter period, with temperatures generally ranging from 3°C to 12°C. Rainfall is occasional but not excessive, and the city feels peaceful compared with the busier tourist months. This quieter time is ideal for exploring iconic landmarks like the Colosseum or Vatican Museums without large crowds, and for enjoying warm cafés and local trattorias.

February

Temperatures remain similar to January, typically 4°C to 13°C. Rain showers are possible but interspersed with sunny spells. February is a good month for cultural experiences, including museum visits, walking the historic centre, and early glimpses of spring flowers in Rome’s parks and gardens.

March

Spring begins, with temperatures rising to around 7°C to 16°C. Rainfall is moderate, and the city starts to feel livelier. This is a great time for strolling through piazzas, visiting churches and fountains, or enjoying outdoor dining as the days lengthen and the gardens and villas bloom.

April

By April, Rome enjoys mild and generally settled weather, with temperatures between 10°C and 19°C. Showers are occasional, but the city is vibrant with spring colour. It’s an excellent time to explore open-air markets, historic streets, and cultural landmarks while enjoying comfortable walking conditions.

May

May brings warm, sunny days with temperatures ranging from 13°C to 24°C. Rainfall is low, and outdoor exploration is very pleasant. June
