The tiny rock of Gibraltar lies between the Spanish mainland and Morocco at the mouth of Mediterranean. From the red postboxes to the fish and chip restaurants, Gibraltar is unmistakably British in character, and houses a delightful town centre containing familiar high street names. A trip to the top of the rock will reward you with remarkable views and the chance to meet the island’s famous monkeys, whilst the frontier town of La Linea can be easily accessed just over the border. Marbella and the popular resorts of the Costa del Sol lie just a little further afield and are easily accessible from Gibraltar by hire car or public transport.
